About SAS

The Sunraysia Academy of Sport

The Sunraysia Academy of Sports offers talented Sunraysia athletes the opportunity to reach their full potential in their chosen sport and life by providing services such as advanced technical coaching and sport science programs covering strength & conditioning, psychology, nutrition & hydration and a personal development session.

Services are provided on three levels – Full Sport Programs, Service Delivery Programs and Individual Athlete Programs.

Full Sports Programs

Programs are developed in consultation and agreement with an Advisory Panel made up of representatives from the relevant State Sporting Association, local members of the specific sport, and the Sunraysia Academy Sports Executive Officer.

This level provides athletes the full complement of services, regular technical coaching expertise, sport science components and personal development.

Individual Athlete Support Program

There is also an opportunity for talented athletes who are not catered for in the above sports programs to be a part of the Individual Athlete Support Program. 

Benefits to being part of our programs

  • Access to specialized skills clinics, conducted by specialized coaches.
  • Personalized Strength and Conditioning programs. Each personalized program is considerate of their age, gender, sport(s), experience, peak performance periods and de-training. 
  • Access to athlete education sessions, focused on injury prevention, rehab, recovery, sports psychology, media and public relations and more.
  • Membership to aligned leisure for the duration of the program.
  • Membership to Mildura Strength and Performance for the duration of the program.

Branding & Uniform

SAS is aware of the importance of corporate branding and as such we have utilized our corporate colors in the design and production of our uniforms.

Each academy athlete, dependent on the talent development program they are involved in and the program level they are on, receive academy apparel.

Examples of the Sunraysia Academy of Sport Merchandise/Uniforms are:

SAS Walk Out Polo Shirt, SAS Training shirt, SAS Trackpants, SAS Track Suit Jacket, SAS Socks

The Uniforms are provided by SAS’s partner Totally Workwear Mildura.
